ZTE launches 5G Axon phone that is compatible with SA and NSA modes
ZTE today announced its latest flagship smartphone, the Axon 10s Pro which is compatible with both 5G standalone (SA) and Non-standalone (NSA) modes.
SA and NSA modes are two 5G tracks that communication service providers opt for when transitioning from 4G to 5G. Under NSA mode, 5G networks are supported by existing 4G infrastructure. This is what many countries are using currently to kick start 5G deployment, including Singapore. For SA mode, communication service providers deploy a completely new end-to-end 5G network that promises even greater bandwidth, but this will come at a cost.
Commercially available in China in Q1 2020, the Axon 10s Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile platform and the Snapdragon X55 5G Modem-RF system. It also supports Wi-Fi 6 technology, which provides users with speeds of up to 1.2Gbps and low latency, especially in crowded environments.
In addition, the Axon 10s Pro supports multiple network connections that can connect to two wireless networks at the same time for higher stability and faster speeds. Its link-booster network enhancement solution gives the Axon 10s Pro the unique advantage of seamless switching from Wi-Fi signals to LTE or 5G networks for a better mobile surfing experience and lower latency.
Other specs include LPDDR5 RAM memory, UFS3.0 ROM storage, and a new generation full-scene system optimization engine Z-Booster 2.0 for a smoother user experience.
