ASUS has announced pricing and availability details of its ROG Zephyrus line – the G14 and G16. What sets these new Zephyrus apart is their pioneering introduction of OLED displays to the ROG notebook range, coupled with a completely redesigned chassis that marks a significant departure from their predecessors.

The comprehensive design overhaul now makes both notebooks nearly unrecognisable compared to the prior models, which were distinguished by their Anime Matrix LED arrays on the lid. This time around, ROG has opted for a more refined aesthetic, utilising CNC aluminium to achieve a sleek, minimalist appearance. The G14 introduces an eye-catching feature with its 'Slash Lightning' design – a diagonal etch filled with LEDs, offering a subtle yet customisable lighting effect through the Armoury Crate software.

Under the hood, the Zephyrus G16 is powered by Intel's latest Core Ultra processors, up to a top-of-the-line Core Ultra 9 185H, and features Intel’s NPU chip for enhanced AI performance. Meanwhile, the G14 is sticking with AMD, sporting the new Ryzen 9 8945HS processor.

Both models are equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series Laptop GPUs, with the G16 supporting up to an RTX 4070 and the G14 up to an RTX 4060, ensuring ample graphical power for demanding games and creative tasks. Additionally, the new Zephyrus models have been designed with portability in mind, featuring reduced weights of 1.5kg for the G14 and 1.85kg for the G16. ASUS says these are done without compromising on battery life or build quality.

The introduction of OLED displays across both models is perhaps the most notable improvement. These panels not only offer stunning visuals with resolutions of 3K on the G16 and 2.5K on the G14 but also support G-Sync, boast a 16:10 aspect ratio, and meet VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. The G16's display pushes the envelope further with a refresh rate of up to 240Hz, while the G14's display offers a solid 120Hz, ensuring smooth gameplay and vibrant, true-to-life colors.

Asus has set a new precedent with these models, not just in terms of technological advancements but also in redefining the aesthetics of gaming laptops. The ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 are poised to appeal to gamers and creators alike, looking for a device that marries performance with portability and style. With pre-orders already underway and sales set to commence on the 23rd of February, these laptops are set to make a significant impact on the market.

The ROG Zephyrus series will be available from $3,099 starting from 23 February and will be available on ASUS Online Store, ROG Experience Store Bugis, and selected authorised retailers.
