YouTrip Perks: a new savings platform combining international shopping with low exchange rates

YouTrip Perks.

YouTrip knows that Singaporeans love shopping at overseas websites, since its recent study saw an 84% increase in online overseas purchases by Singaporeans between July 2020 to June 2021.

To catch that wave, the financial payments platform launched YouTrip Perks, a deals-and-savings platform that combines YouTrip’s mid-market currency exchange rates with our favourite pastime - deal hunting.

YouTrip Perks covers 30 local and international merchants across a wide gamut of lifestyle product categories at launch. A quick peek at the new platform showed discounts across popular e-commerce sites like Taobao, iHerb,, Lazada, Klook, Foodpanda, Zalora, and many more.

This is on top of YouTrip’s core feature - a digital wallet offering baseline currency exchange rates across 150 different currencies when paying for things, without the additional fees or markups levied by conventional financial institutions.

“At YouTrip, we’re always looking for ways to give our users the most cost-effective way to pay - from promising the best exchange rates when transacting in multi-currency, and now sealing the best deals for them on YouTrip Perks. This is only the start, and Singaporeans can look forward to more deals from online shopping options and local retail brands in the months to come,” said Jeremy Lim, Country Manager, YouTrip Singapore.

To use YouTrip Perks, users need to visit its platform and enter their YouTrip card’s Y-number to see applicable deals. Clicking on the deal brings the user to the e-commerce merchant, and the shopping begins. Discounts are either applied immediately or when the promo code is inserted. Alternatively, savings can also be cashback credited back to the YouTrip wallet.

YouTrip’s iOS and Android app can be found on the respective app stores.
