You can get the Tag Heuer smartwatch in Singapore via an e-shopping concierge

Luxury smartwatch is now an actual thing.

Now, there’s a chance to get the latest luxury Swiss smartwatch before its official international release. Personal e-shopper, Big Apple Buddy, announced their partnership with major shipping carriers, Fedex, UPS, and DHL, to bring the Tag Heuer Connected Watch to Singapore “in as little as a week” once Tag Heuer begins fulfilling orders for the Connected Watch.

Previously, Tag Heuer announced that their smartwatch is currently available only in Tag Heuer shops and official in-store retailers found in US and Canada. The Swiss watchmakers said that the Android Wear device will only start selling in ‘international markets’ come December 2015.

In response to that, New York-based Big Apple Buddy – who has been taking US orders since 2014 – will start accepting pre-orders for the Connected Watch on their shopping concierge site. Big Apple Buddy specializes in getting a hold of the latest tech products as soon as they are released in US, on behalf of interested users from the rest of the world. This doesn’t change the fact that the Tag Heuer smartwatch will cost at least US$1,500 (~S$2,132).

Tag Heuer making it known that it's not just for show.

In case you missed the Swiss watchmaker’s announcement last week, the Connected Watch has a 1.5-inch touchscreen LCD display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels, reinforced with sapphire crystal glass. It is the first Android Wear device to cost above US$1,000, and that also makes it one of the first true luxury watches from a Swiss watch brand.

The Connected Watch weighs 52g, and has a 410mAh battery which is stated to last "all-day". It is charged by a USB charging cradle, and has 4GB internal storage space, gyroscope, tilt detection sensor, microphone, haptic engine, Bluetooth 4.0, Intel and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. It is powered using a 1.6GHz dual-core chipset and 1GB RAM.
