You can finally take selfies with Iron Man with the Google Pixel 3a

One of the best things about Google’s Pixel 3a is that it has largely the same camera system found on the flagship Pixel 3. The biggest difference lies with their selfie cameras: unlike the Pixel 3 that has dual 8MP front cameras, the 3a sports a single 8MP front camera with an f/2.0 lens and 84° field of view.

The Pixel 3a's selfie camera also lacked support for the Playmoji AR stickers at launch. More specifically, while you can use the Google Camera to launch Playground mode to add interactive characters (e.g. Detective Pikachu, Marvel’s Avengers, Childish Gambino) to your photos or videos with the rear camera, you can’t do the same for the selfie camera — Playground simply doesn’t let you switch to the front-facing camera.

Well, the nightmare is finally over. As noted by 9to5Google, the latest Playground 2.6 update now allows AR stickers to be used with the Pixel 3a and 3a XL’s selfie camera. With this update, all Pixel phones (including the original Pixel) now support Playmoji in selfie mode.

So, what are you waiting for? Go take a selfie with Iron Man now.
