Yahoo Retiring AltaVista and 11 Other Products

Yahoo has just announced that it will be shutting down a total of 12 products in the next few months. Products like Yahoo Axis, Browser Plus, Citizen Sports have already been shut down on 28 June, while Yahoo WebPlayer was shut down on 30 June. Below is a full list of products and the dates where they're supposed to be closed. If you're reliant on any of these mentioned products, now would be a good time to go look for a replacement.

Citizen Sports (June 28, 2013)
Yahoo WebPlayer (June 30, 2013
FoxyTunes (July 1, 2013)
Yahoo RSS Alerts (July 1, 2013)
Yahoo Neighbors Beta (July 8, 2013)
AltaVista (July 8, 2013)
Yahoo Stars India (July 25, 2013)
Yahoo Downloads Beta (July 31, 2013)
Yahoo Local API (September 28, 2013)
Yahoo Term Extraction API (September 28, 2013)

Jay Rossiter, Executive Vice President of Platforms said that the closure of these products is part of an ongoing effort to narrow the company's focus on improving the user experience on its existing products, as well as creating more "beautiful products."
