Holiday Gift Idea 2: A fantastic ultraportable notebook powered by AMD

The ASUS ZenBook 14 UM425.

AMD's Ryzen 4000 series of mobile CPUs have really shaken up the notebook scene. And one of the best examples, we have seen is the ASUS ZenBook 14 UM425.

As many of us are working from all over the place this year, notebooks have become invaluable tools and the ZenBook 14 UM425 checks a lot of boxes for many people. To begin, it's really portable. Thin bezels mean its overall footprint is small and its thickness of just 14.3mm means it can slip into bags easily. Weight is just 1.22kg so it's certainly worthy of an ultraportable title - especially for a 14-inch notebook.

Despite its svelte dimensions, it doesn't lack in firepower. Inside, it's powered by a Ryzen 7 4700U processor with Radeon VX Vega 7 graphics. It also has 8GB of memory and a capacious 1TB SSD. Most importantly, in all our testing, we found that it mostly outperforms its Intel equivalents, making it a very a capable notebook.

Best of all, it's reasonably priced. It usually goes for S$1,598 but you can find it on the ASUS Online Store, Best Denki, Courts, and Harvey Norman now for S$1,498.
