Xiaomi has officially unveiled the Mi Watch, an Apple Watch lookalike that runs on a skinned variant of the Google Wear OS and costs less than S$400.

The Mi Watch comes with a 1.78-inch AMOLED square screen with a four-side curved design and a pixel density of 326 ppi. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset, 1GB RAM and MIUI for Watch which is based on Google Wear OS.

MIUI for Watch, which Xiaomi claims to provide a revolutionary UI experience, has more than 100 dial plate selections and over 40 of the most used apps for users to download. MIUI for Watch has an AI assistant to activate music playback, phone calls and navigation via voice commands.

Other specs include independent speakers, NFC support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection, a built-in six-axis sensor, a 3rd generation heart rate monitor sensor, up to 10 sport modes (e.g. outdoor running, outdoor biking, open water swimming and mountain climbing), compatibility with sports analytics provider FirstBeat to monitor sleep quality, blood pressure, heart rate and physical energy, and eSIM support.

The Mi Watch is available in two colour options: black and silver. It is priced at 1,999 yuan (~S$387) for the standard model while a Special Edition model with blue sapphire glass will cost you 2,999 yuan (~S$582).

The standard model is available now for pre-order via official Xiaomi sales channels in China. Pre-orders for the Special Edition model will begin around mid December and it has a limited supply of 30,000 units worldwide.
