Xiaomi just announced a new member of the Redmi tablet lineup, the Redmi Pad SE.

Designed for young professionals and students, the Redmi Pad SE has an 11-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio for immersive enjoyment of a wide range format of content.

The 11-inch screen is capable of up to 400 nits of brightness for a reliable viewing experience under any lighting conditions. It also supports refresh rates of 60Hz or 90Hz for optimal energy efficiency.

The Redmi Pad SE comes with an aluminium alloy unibody design that weighs only 478g and comes in three colour options: Lavender Purple, Graphite Grey, and Mint Green.

Powering the tablet is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 platform with up to 8GB RAM, MIUI Pad 14 based on Android 13, and an 8,000mah battery.

Other notable specs include Bluetooth 5.0, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and quad speakers. However, one thing to point out is that wired charging is limited to a mere 10W, which means long charging times.

On paper, this looks like an agreeable entry-level tablet. However, things like 10W wired charging are a clear sign that corners are being cut in places to keep prices down.
