Besides announcing the Mi 10 Ultra with 120x ultra zoom and 120W wired fast charging, Xiaomi also unveiled a new K-series flagship phone.

Dubbed as its 10th anniversary flagship-level 5G smartphone, the Redmi K30 Ultra sports several flagship-worthy specs such as the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ 5G chipset, a quad-camera setup and dual stereo speakers.

Like the Mi 10 Ultra, the Redmi K30 Ultra supports 120Hz refresh rate on its 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display which the Samsung Galaxy Note20 lacks. While the Galaxy Note20 keeps the refresh rate at 60Hz, the Redmi K30 Ultra is able to switch automatically between 60Hz and 120Hz frame rates to optimise battery consumption.

Xiaomi claims the Redmi K30 Ultra is one of the first phones in the world to support dual 5G standby. Coupled with the smart dual-SIM switch function and 5G dual carrier aggregation technology, the Redmi K30 Ultra can double 5G network speeds and extends the range of 5G signal reception.

On the back is a quad-lens system consisting of a 64MP main camera, a 13MP 119°ultra wide-angle camera, a 5MP telemacro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The Redmi K30 Ultra has a pop-up 20MP front camera that can shoot 120fps slow motion videos. Other specs include Wi-Fi 6, NFC, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, a 4,500mAh battery, 33W wired fast charging and USB Type-C.

The Redmi K30 Ultra will be available through all official Xiaomi channels in China from 14 August at the following prices and configurations:

  • 6GB + 128GB - 1,999 yuan
  • 8GB + 128GB - 2,199 yuan
  • 8GB + 256GB - 2,499 yuan
  • 8GB + 512GB - 2,699 yuan
