Xiaomi Mi Band launching in Singapore this Friday

Updated at 1pm:- Previously we reported a wrong date of sale. We've since updated the news to reflect the correct date of sale.

Xiaomi's first wearable, the Mi Band, will be launching in Singapore next Tuesday, 16 December. The activity and sleep tracker will be available on Xiaomi's Singapore website for S$19.99. That will definitely put a dent into retailers bringing the product in from overseas and selling it for much more.

On top of tracking steps, the Mi Band can monitor your activity while you jump rope or do sit ups, and it will also track your sleep pattern when you wear at night. The Mi Band also has an automatic unlock feature exclusive to Xiaomi Mi Phones, and has a battery that lasts an incredible 30 days on a single charge.

The Mi Band is currently compatible with all Android OS devices. An official Chinese iOS app has also launched, however Xiaomi can't confirm at this time when or if an English version will be available.

At its price point, the Mi Band might very well be the first activity tracker for many consumers. Stay tuned to HardwareZone to find out more as we share more details from our test drive later in the day.
