According to Xiaomi Malaysia Facebook Page, Malaysian Mi Fans had requested for the Redmi 1S to be sold in the country. It also comes with more storage space at 8GB and Bluetooth 4.0

4,000 sets of the flagship model, the Mi 3 will be available for purchase in Malaysia tomorrow for RM889 alongside 5,000 units of the 10,400mAh Mi Power Bank which is priced at RM36.

Lin Bin, co-founder and President of Xiaomi stated during the launch event that he is "working super super hard"  to bring the Redmi Note and Mi Pad into Malaysia too. The Redmi Note is Xiaomi's first foray into the phablet market, which has a 5.5-inch 720p display and runs on an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor.
