No dragons in this one. Yet.

Obsidian Entertainment has finally announced their next full-scale game: Avowed. The first-person fantasy game takes place in the world of Eora, which the critically acclaimed Pillars of Eternity franchise also pulls from. The game looks quite a lot like a next-generation Elder Scrolls title.

Watch the trailer below:

In the video, we see a dark world straight out of the cover of a fantasy novel, where archers nock flaming arrows and fire them into walking skeletons. The trailer then heads underground, where we see someone wield purple magic in one hand and a sword in the other, getting ready for a horrible fight to come.

Announced during the Xbox Games Showcase, Avowed will launch on the Xbox Series X at an unannounced date. Obsidian also announced that their other game The Outer Worlds will receive its first expansion on September 9, 2020. The DLC is titled Peril on Gorgon, and adds an entirely new choice-based story to the game.
