One of the most gorgeous racing game franchises is back.
Microsoft has just announced Forza Motorsport during the Xbox Games Showcase, and it's set to launch on the Xbox Series X. This is actually one of the few first-party games Xbox showed off with actual in-engine gameplay, and it looks staggeringly good.
Watch the trailer:
Head of Xbox Phil Spencer announced that Forza Motorsport would run on Microsoft’s next-gen console in native 4K resolution and ray tracing, with a steady 60 frames per second. The game is currently early in development, so don’t expect it to come out anytime soon.
This is also the first Forza Motorsport since the 2005 original game to drop its numbered title. Technically, it’s the eighth game in the series - so developer Turn 10 Studios might be aiming to shake up the series a little with this entry. The last game in the Forza franchise was 2018's Forza Horizon 4, developed by Playground Games. Playground is now working on a new Fable game.
Forza Motorsport will launch on the Xbox Series X at an unspecified date.
