X-mini’s new Evolve 2 takes the speaker-headphone concept further
The X-mini Evolve series has always been about high performance and versatility. We place the same level of demand on quality for our products as if we were consumers. As such, we designed the X-mini Evolve 2 to produce an immersive aural experience at a reasonable price. - Hoong He Hin, Chief Executive Officer, X-mini
X-mini’s new Evolve 2 builds on its predecessors hybrid headphone/speaker setup, with new drivers for better audio clarity on the go. The new headphones also come with a new swivel mechanism so you can turn the ear cups out sideways to angle the speakers for better audio coverage. Of course, this also means the headphones now fold down smaller than before, making them easier to transport.
The X-mini Evolve 2 comes with memory foam leather pads for the ear cups for added comfort and better passive noise isolation. It continues to use Bluetooth CSR v4.1 and is compliant with the A2DP, AVCRP, HFP, and HSP profiles. Four 40mm drivers have been used in the headphones – two 40mm drivers for the headphones, and another two 40mm drivers for the external speakers. aptX support improves audio quality over Bluetooth, while there’s still the typical 3.5mm audio jack option if you prefer using a cable.
The Evolve 2 weighs 365g without cable. The internal battery takes two hours to charge fully. It has a battery life of up to 30 hours on headphone mode, and six hours on speaker mode.
It’s available now in a choice of Rose Gold and Mystic Grey for S$129 at all major retailers.
