The long-awaited Windows 11 is now available as a free upgrade on eligible Windows 10 PCs. If you own one of the newer Microsoft products, it would come with Windows 11 too.
According to Microsoft, getting Windows 11 served to you depends on your PC’s specs. You can run a simple checker to see if your machine meets the minimum requirements. If it doesn’t measure up, you’ll have to download and install Windows 11 separately, either onto a USB or as a mountable ISO file.
If your PC qualifies for Windows 11, congrats. You can wait for Windows 11 to be delivered to you via Settings > Windows Update. If you don’t want to wait, there’s the Windows 11 Installation Assistant (first option here) to expedite the process.
Windows 11 comes with several new features built-in. For office workers, Chat from Microsoft Teams offers a revamped interface. For gamers, there’s AutoHDR and DirectStorage for better graphics fidelity and better load times respectively.
