Whirlpool's Apple Watch app can control over 20 connected home appliances

Whirlpool, a U.S manufacturer of home appliances, just announced at CES 2018 that it is working on an Apple Watch app which allows customers to control more than 20 of its home appliances.

The Apple Watch app is the first of its kind from an appliance maker and will be available later this year. When it arrives, customers can control appliances such as ovens, washing machines and dryers from their wrist.

For example, the app allows the user to check the temperature or change settings during a cook cycle for Whirlpool ovens. The app can also change the type of wash cycle when the washing machine is in use. As for dryers, the app can show if a cycle has started and the remaining time of a cycle.
