WhatsApp rolls out new features for voice messages

With an average of 7 billion voice messages sent everyday, WhatsApp recognises the popularity of the feature and is rolling out new features to enhance the experience.

One of the major new feature is out of chat playback where you can listen to a voice message outside of the chat while reading and responding to other messages. You can also pause the voice message recording, gather your thoughts and resume when ready.

Other new features include a draft preview to listen to the recording before sending it, pick up where you left off earlier when listening to a voice message, and the option to play at 1.5x or 2x speeds on both regular and forwarded messages.

WhatsApp says the new features will be available in the coming weeks.
