WhatsApp rolls out new feature for users to fact-check forwarded messages
WhatsApp rolls out a new feature to combat fake news.
Starting from today, WhatsApp is piloting a new feature that allows users to fact-check forwarded messages by tapping a magnifying glass in the chat. The feature will upload the message via the browser without WhatsApp ever seeing the message itself, and enable users to find news results or other sources of information about the information they received.
The feature is rolling out to users in Brazil, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, Spain, U.K and U.S who are using the latest version of WhatsApp for Android, iOS, and WhatsApp Web.
