It’s now easier to organise gatherings and reply to important messages in sprawling groups and Communities.

WhatsApp has added two important features to its WhatsApp Communities, allowing users to organise gatherings and respond to important messages.
As announced in its blog post, Communities now offer an events organisation shortcut. This allows members of a WhatsApp Community to plan physical or online gatherings, see attendance, and learn more about the event within the Community’s information page. Users who RSVP for events are also given automatic reminders (via notifications) as it draws nearer.
WhatsApp said that this add-on goes to groups that belong in a Community first, and it’s followed by another rollout to all groups “over the coming months”.

Separately, WhatsApp also added the ability to write replies to Announcement Groups. This allows Announcement Groups to minimise discussions without flooding the rest of the chat. Users can view replies to admin announcements and see what others have said in context, and reply notifications are muted for all. In short, you can tap on an announcement to see what others have said, and admins of these groups can gather feedback easily.
