WhatsApp beta-tests group chats with 1,024 participants because why not

Do you enjoy waking up to a million inane messages that you won’t ever read? WhatsApp somehow knows you do, so they’re trialing a new maximum limit for its group chats.
According to WABetaInfo, the latest beta version of WhatsApp has a maximum group size of 1,024 participants. Not all beta testers are seeing the update, but it’s available on both Android and iOS versions of the beta app.

The new maximum size is an increase from WhatsApp’s June 2022 update, where it allowed group chats of 512 participants.
