What's happening at Comex 2017: Lucky dips, selfie contest, trade-in promos, free screen protectors, and more!

Comex 2017 takes place next week from August 31 to September 3 at Suntec Singapore. Like past shows, access to Level 3 booths begins at 11 AM, while doors at Level 4 and 6 open from 12 PM.

In addition to the many deals (look out for our star buys article coming soon), here are a few other show highlights that you should be aware of.

1.) Sure-win instant lucky dip

S$500,000 worth of prizes and vouchers are slated to be won at Comex 2017. Attractive prizes include Creative Sonic Carrier, iRobot Roomba 980, Mobot Skylinner electric bike, Samsung’s newest gaming monitor and TV, Lenovo Tab, TrackR Bravo, and more. To register for the lucky dip, simply fill up the form at www.comexshow.com.sg/contest-lucky-dip, get your confirmation email, and follow the instructions from there. Yup, no minimum spend required!

2.) Tech Showcase

Only available from September 1 to 3, the Tech Showcase area (Level 4, back of Hall 406) is where you experience the latest tech gadgets. For example, there's an XYZ Robot that features mapping and indoor navigation with collision prevention. It has natural language processing, a face recognition function, and can even greet people. Also available is the Garmin Fenix 5S – a sleek, smaller-sized watch with a focus on female adventurers. You will also get to see an interesting range of 3D printers – from a 3D pen to scanner and even an enhanced laser scanning system that improves the precision of the engine’s laser to 130 microns X/Y resolution and up to 25 micron layer thickness.

3.) DIY PC lab by The Techanic

Want to learn how to build a PC from scratch? Learn a computer’s inner workings and how the hardware and software work? Then come on down to Booth 6751 at Level 6. Look out for the fun-filled experiences presented by Intel and some other partners at this area. There will also be deals and new products from brands such as Zowie, ASUS, Nzxt, Intel, Logitech, AMD, and Cooler Master.

4.) Experience PlayStation

Over at Level 6, G3 is where the Sony PlayStation booth is located. You can get behind the wheel in a supercar in GT Sport, take on aliens in VR in FarPoint, or have family fun in Knack 2. Remember to play any two games and complete a survey to be entitled to a sure-win lucky dip.

5.) Brand selfie contest

If you’ve bought something at Comex, remember to take a picture with your purchase at the photo booth next to the instant lucky dip booth at Level 4. Show the staff there when you’ve posted the photo on the ComexITShow Facebook page with the relevant hashtags (e.g., #COMEX2017, #(brand name of product)) to receive a mystery gift.

6.) Trade-in your old gadgets

Like past shows, you can trade-in your old PCs, notebooks, tablets, smartphones for Comex cash vouchers at the station located at Level 6, Hall 603 - 604.

For gaming consoles and software trade-ins, head to Hall 601 instead.

E-mobility trade-ins are also available, and for this, you should proceed to Level 4, Booth 6651 where Mobot is located. You can get rebates up to S$300 for your next e-mobility purchase.

You can check this page for more up-to-date details regarding the trade-in process.
