What to look out for at The Tech Show 2018 that's happening Nov 1 - 4

The Tech Show (formerly called CEF) is happening from November 1 to 4. From the same team that brought you IT Show and Comex, The Tech Show will be held at Suntec Singapore, Levels 3 and 4.

Gadget deals aside, here’s a summary of what else is happening at the show:

Corporate trade-ins

For businesses that have many old gadgets to dispose of, there’s a corporate trade-in concierge service offered by PC Dreams. All you need to do is to fill up the form here to get a quote. If you accept the quote, your company will be issued a form to bring down to The Tech Show to exchange for vouchers. Here are the terms and conditions of the trade-in program.

Consumer trade-ins

Like past tech shows, consumers can also trade-in their personal gadgets, be it PCs, mobile devices, gaming consoles, or e-mobility gear.

For mobile device, PC, and monitor trade-ins, you need to fill up this form first to get a quote. Then, bring the device down to The Tech Show (Hall 403) and exchange it for vouchers that you can spend at the show.

If your phones or laptops are acting up and you’d rather repair them than to throw them away, you can also bring them down to the show to get an assessment. If need be, you can upgrade your old HDD to a 512GB SSD for just S$169.

For gaming consoles and software, you should proceed to the counter at the entrance of Hall 405.

Finally, for e-mobility trade-ins, proceed to Mobot’s booths at Level 4. If you want to get a quote before heading down to Suntec, you can do so by contacting Mobot using the phone number listed here.

“Hero” products on offer

Several products will be heavily discounted (minimum 50% off) at the show. However, to know exactly what are the drops, you need to check the The Tech Show website or its Facebook page at 11 AM every day (Nov 1 to 4). As far as we know, participating brands include Spigen, Remax, Lightair, Anker, Ranger, and iRobot.

Purchase-with-purchase deals

If you’ve spent a minimum of S$250.00 (in a single receipt or maximum three combined receipts) at the show, you should proceed to the back of Hall 401 to see if you wish to buy any of the tech products there at half the price.

For example, there’s a Mabella Airdock fast wireless charger and Kaze II Bluetooth fitness tracker bundle that’s going for just S$99 (U.P: 228).

Other PwP deals include: U-Rock 10,000mAh powerbank at S$15.90 (U.P: S$32.90), WK Design WT-L03 LED Lamp at S$22.00 (U.P: S$39.90), and WK Design Rhythm BD520 sports bluetooth headset at S$24.90 (U.P: S$59.90).

Spend & redeem

The back of Hall 401 is also where you redeem certain free gifts.

For example, you can get a free Corkcicle tumbler worth S$44.90 if you sign up for a telco plan or service at the show. If you’ve spent S$500 (maximum three combined receipts), you can also redeem a Logitech M187 wireless Mouse that’s worth S$23.00. Bought a printer? Remember to pick up your PaperOne Digital 100gsm paper.

Sure-win instant lucky dip

Up to S$300,000 worth of prizes (ranging from robotic vacuum cleaners and e-mobility vehicles to headphones) are waiting to be won at The Tech Show. Check this page for the contest mechanism.

Free screen protectors

Looking for a screen protector for the smartphone or tablet that you’ve just purchased at the show? If so, bring your receipt and quickly head over to the counter at the entrance of Hall 402 to redeem your free screen protector. If you want, you can upgrade to a tempered glass protector for just S$5.
