Western Digital’s new SanDisk Professional brand caters to content creators and pros

Filmmakers, photographers, and content creators don’t just need huge storage options. They need these tools to be reliable, and easy on their workflow to deliver professional-looking stills and videos.

To that end, Western Digital launched a new storage brand, catering to people working deep inside the creative process - SanDisk Professional.

Expanding our brand family with SanDisk Professional allows us to offer advanced solutions to people around the world who rely on the best technology available for their inspiring work,” said Jim Welsh, senior vice president and general manager of the Consumer Solutions business at Western Digital.

SanDisk Professional products are built on WD's G-Technology brand - an all-encompassing audio/visual solution for professional use. In a nutshell, SanDisk Professional products have multi-port, multi-format, and multi-system support, as seen on older G-Technology products. 

At launch, the SanDisk Professional line will see 16 different products for content makers, which includes storage and workflow solutions like:

• Pro-Cinema CFexpress VPG400: a new, professional-grade, rugged CFexpress card for filmmakers who need at least 400MB/s speeds for their broadcast, filmmaking, or cinematic works.
• Pro-Reader series: four new camera media readers with USB-C compatibility that supports SuperSpeed USB 10Gbs. The readers can take CFast, CFexpress, RED Mini-Mag, CF, microSD, and SD cards.
• Pro-Dock 4: a four-bay reader docking station for bridge capturing or ingesting during video production. It supports up to four simultaneous card offloads.
• 4TB G-Drive ArmorLock Encrypted NVMe SSD, and other G-Drive products; all are high-performing, ultra-rugged, high-capacity, designed for mission-critical content.

SanDisk Professional products begin retailing in Singapore from 27 August 2021 at retailers (Memory World, Inforcom Technologies, Cathay Photo Store, Global Cybermind Technologies), and official SanDisk web stores found on Lazada and KrisShop.
