Updated on 5 July, 2018, 4:50pm, with local availability and pricing details.

Western Digital has just released its highest capacity WD Purple video surveillance drive yet.

The newest member of the WD Purple family will come with a staggering 12TB.

On top of that, this latest 12TB WD Purple drive will also feature AllFrame AI technology. AllFrame AI technology improves ATA streaming resulting in lower frame loss and better video playback.

In addition, it allows the drives to support up to 16 AI channels and 32 AI streams, which, according to Western Digital, is double that of the competition.

This makes it ideal for use with AI-enabled network video recorders, which may employ deep learning for image recognition purposes.

The WD Purple 12TB will be available in Singapore in mid-August and is priced at S$660.
