A week after launch, Windows 10 gets its first set of fixes

A week after making Windows 10 generally available, Microsoft has released the first major service update (or second if you count the one that’s downloaded alongside the final consumer build) for the OS.

Called ‘Cumulative Update for Windows 10: August 5, 2015’ (or Service Release 1 internally), the 325MB update includes “improvements to enhance the functionality of Windows 10”. And while it contains all previously-released fixes (see KB 3074683), if you’ve been keeping your Windows 10 machine up to date, only the new fixes will be downloaded and installed to your computer. For more info, see KB 3081424.

You can get this update by checking Windows Update; of course, if you’ve turned on automatic updating, this update will be downloaded and installed automatically.
