Wear OS to get update in fall, focuses on speed and more intuitive controls
Google just announced in a blog post that there will be an OTA update for Wear OS in fall. The Wear OS update will focus on performance, power and more intuitive controls.
The pairing process between the Wear OS device and phone will be simplified. There will be enhancements to the user interface with more intuitive controls for managing different watch modes and workouts. Wear OS users will also see up to 20% speed improvement in startup time for apps with the CPU core improvements and support for the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100/4100+ platforms.
Google is introducing a handwashing timer so that WearOS users can practice good hygiene. It is also introducing a new weather experience for Wear OS that allow users to view information on the go. There will be hourly breakdown of the day's weather and important weather alerts for the particular area.
