WD’s new Blue SN570 is another cost-effective NVMe SSD for ‘content creators’

The 250GB SSD is the smallest capacity available for customers.

WD is now joining the list of storage companies launching affordable storage options for “content creators”.

The WD Blue SN570 NVMe is a M.2 2280 form-factor drive featuring a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface. This PCIe 3.0 x4 refers to a Gen 3 expansion card or slot with a four-lane configuration. According to WD, the 1TB capacity storage solution offers sequential read speeds of 3,500MB/s and 3,000MB/s write speed depending on the type of environment.

Users who want more control can download WD’s SSD Dashboard to monitor the drive's health, available space, temperature, and more. It also comes bundled with Acronis True-Image backup software.

The new NVME series comes in storage sizes of 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB.

The predecessor of the WD Blue SN570 is the SN550. The SN550 however, goes up to 2TB in size. It had sequential read speeds of 2,400MB/s and 1,950MB/s write speeds.

To help creators, each new purchase of a WD Blue SN570 NVMe SSD comes with a one-month membership to Adobe Creative Cloud. This gives buyers access to creative apps and services such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere Pro and InDesign.

While WD NAS’s have been having some well-publicised issues, their gaming NVMe SSDs in the form of their Black series have been becoming popular.

Prices for the WD Blue SN570 range from US$53.99 for 250GB, US$57.99 for 500GB, and US$109.99 for 1TB on WD’s website. We will update with local pricing and purchase options when we have more information.
