Want to create beautiful long exposure shots for free? Halide's Spectre app is now free for iPhone users
Spectre, which is an AI-powered long exposure camera app, is now free to download for iPhone users.
Developed by the makers of the Halide app, Spectre uses AI and Apple's Neural Engine Processor to create three-second long exposures without the need for a mount or tripod.
These long exposure shots can be handy for a number of things. It can be used to remove crowds or you can create interesting long exposure effects such as light trails and light painting. The AI scene detection also automatically switches modes at night, which is great for night-time city photography.
Spectre also saves the entire exposure process as a Live Photo so you can re-play the exposure as it happened. In addition, you can share the Spectre shot as a photo, video, or both!
The latest app version, Spectre 1.5.1 is now available as a free download for iPhone users running iOS 12 or later. The AI-based stabilisation features are only available on iPhone 6s and later. For the best experience, Spectre recommends the iPhone 8 or later models.
There is also a pro version of the Spectre Pro which offers longer 15- and 30-second exposure modes, and a new Pro icon. Existing users will receive a free upgrade to the Spectre Pro. New users can unlock the Pro version for a one-time fee of S$6.98.
