Vivo's in-display fingerprint scanning X21 is launching in Singapore this Saturday (5th May)
While Vivo's previous smartphone - the Vivo V7+ - wasn't particularly exciting, its new X21 smartphone looks a lot more promising. The X21 has a large 6.28-inch Full HD+ 18:9 2,280 x 1,080 pixels resolution AMOLED display, with a notch in it, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 6GB RAM. It has 128GB internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 256GB. The phone is powered by a 3,200mAh capacity battery.
Despite its sizable display, the phone is remarkably thin and light, measuring 154.5 x 74.8 x 7.37mm and weighing just 156g, making it lighter and thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S9+, iPhone X and Huawei P20 Pro. It's also one of the few phones remaining with a headphone port in it.
On the rear of the phone is a dual camera setup pairing a 12-megapixel f/1.8 lens with a 5-megapixel f/2.4 lens.
The star feature of the phone is its in-display fingerprint scanner. The sensor is about the same size as a regular fingerprint scanner, just that it's located under the glass display. Simply press your finger onto it to unlock your phone. It's about as fast as a regular fingerprint scanner:
The Vivo X21 will be available this Saturday (5th May) for S$799.
