The ViewSonic X10-4K is a beautiful, smart, and long-lasting portable 4K projector

ViewSonic has just announced the X10-4K, a portable LED projector that offers 4K resolution, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control compatibility, and up to 30,000 hours of light source lifespan.

Based on a DLP chip that uses a super-fast switching XPR technology to create the 8.3 million pixels on screen, the classy-looking X10-4K weighs just 2kg and comes with a leather carry handle and port cover. A host of connectivity options can be found behind this cover, including two HDMI ports (support HDCP 2.2), one USB-C port, two USB-A ports (one USB 2.0 speed, one USB 3.0 speed), an RJ45 Ethernet jack, and even a microSD card slot. It has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support as well, and will play nice with video streaming services such as YouTube and Netflix.

The X10-4K’s LED light source has a top brightness of 2,400 lumens and is said to last up to 30,000 hours. Think of it this way: even if you were to watch a 3-hour movie every night, it’d take you 27 years to reach this limit. Also, since there’s no color wheel involved, you won’t get any rainbow effect, which is a visual artifact common on many single-chip DLP projectors.

Performance-wise, ViewSonic says the X10-4K supports 4K HDR content and features 125% of the Rec.709 color space. It also uses a frame interpolation tech to reduce motion blur and create a cleaner picture. Additionally, the projector has a short-throw lens (0.8 throw ratio) and integrated Harman Kardon speakers.

The ViewSonic X10-4K is priced at S$2,599 and it will be in stores soon.
