U.S expected to extend temporary license for Huawei to buy U.S goods
The U.S Commerce Department is expected to extend the temporary license for Huawei according to Reuters.
Two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters that the "temporary general license" will be extended for Huawei for 90 days, which will allow the Chinese company to continue buying U.S goods and service existing customers.
The extension will renew an earlier temporary license which is set to lapse on 19 August. Even with the extension of the "temporary general license", Huawei is still banned from buying U.S goods to make new products without additional special licenses.
