U.S. Accountable for Most of World's Spam

According to a recent study by IT security firm, Sophos, the United States is responsible for most of the world's spam - 13.1% in fact. The study also lists 11 other countries that are high on the world spam count. Coming in second is India and taking third is Brazil. Surprisingly, China is not in the world's top 10 - they came in 15th.

Tom's Hardware - In a recent study by IT security firm, Sophos, it emerged that America is responsible for 13.1 percent of spam. India came in second, accounting for 7.3 percent and Brazil took the bronze with 6.8 percent.

Sophos points out that China – often blamed for cybercrime by other countries – has disappeared from the "dirty dozen," coming in at 15th place with responsibility for relaying just 1.9% of the world’s spam.
