There are rumours about production issues of Apple’s new iPhone lineup every year and the 2018 iPhone models are no different. According to Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty, the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone is said to only go on sale in October while the other two OLED models will be available in September.

Huberty claimed that production issues with the innovative backlighting system, which is believed to be the key to a bezel-free design, could cause a one-month delay for the launch of the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone.

We currently see no delay in the ramp of Apple's upcoming flagship 5.8" or 6.5" OLED iPhones. However suspected issues with LED backlight leakage have caused a 1 month delay in mass production of the 6.1" LCD iPhone, although this is down from a 6-week delay baked into the original production forecast, according to suppliers.

TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also shared a similar report about production delays with the 6.1-inch iPhone, but he believed Apple would eventually iron out the issues and sell all three models in September.

A delay in the 6.1-inch iPhone would potentially affect the sales of the new iPhones for Q3 as it is predicted to be the most popular model due to the affordable price tag.
