Ubisoft is gifting players Watch Dogs 2 even if they didn't catch the livestream

Apart from revealing a treasure trove of new information for their upcoming and existing titles, last night's Ubisoft Forward live stream was a big talking point among the community this morning regarding another, completely separate topic: login issues.

You see, in the days leading up to the live stream, Ubisoft had promised that anyone who logged in during the event would automatically receive a free PC copy of their hacker-based title Watch Dogs 2. It was all part of their efforts to hype up the reveals for the next instalment in the franchise, Watch Dogs Legion, and things appeared to be going pretty ok...until the stream started.

Owing to the massive number of players attempting to log in and claim their freebie at that point in time, it seems the Uplay login service suffered a humongous overload, meaning numerous players (including ourselves) weren't able to log in and register their attendance. Now, we're no stranger to technical mishaps such as these - nothing's perfect, after all, but that doesn't change the fact that everyone was a little disappointed by the end because of it.

Fortunately, "good guy" Ubisoft has decided to roll in with the easiest solution, and just gift everyone the game, regardless of whether they logged in or not. All you've got to do is head on to this website and log in using your Ubisoft account, following which your set of freebies will arrive in your account sometime today or tomorrow.
