TSMC said to be exclusive manufacturer of A13 chipset for Apple
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has been building A-series chipsets for Apple for the past three years and the trend is set to continue next year.
Citing information from its supply chain sources, DigiTimes claims that TSMC is the exclusive supplier of the next generation A13 chipsets in 2019. Its global foundry market share is expected to increase to 60% next year.
Earlier in June, Reuters reported that TSMC has invested $25 billion in 5nm plant. It is likely a strategy to keep itself ahead of the competition. It’s currently the exclusive supplier of A12 chipsets for Apple.
