TPG reaches 100% 4G coverage throughout Singapore’s MRT system

Singapore’s fourth telco TPG, has announced that it has completed works necessary to ensure that customers travelling on Singapore’s MRT network have uninterrupted 4G mobile service during their journey.

This includes in-train coverage while travelling through the underground part of the system as well as in-station. Over-ground segments of the MRT system have been covered since 2019.

There have been complaints surrounding TPG’s network coverage for a while and we even interviewed them on this last year. At the time, Richard Tan, CEO of TPG Singapore said that the work on providing tunnels coverage was progressing well.

TPG is also conducting trials around 5G based on their 5G NSA network. They have yet to release a time frame for the completion of this trial but we will keep you informed if we receive further information.
