Toshiba Set to Flaunt SD Memory Cards with SSD-like Performance
Professional photographers and graphic designers, here's something to smile about. Toshiba will be releasing a new line of SD memory cards to major markets this October, starting from Japan.
The new series includes the Exceria Pro 1 and Exceria 1 SD memory cards, and will boast the world's fastest data write speeds. The speed enhancement of data transfer rates and write times will aid professional photographers (and consumers) capture burst of photos in quick succession.
Offering a data write speed of 240MBps and 120MBps individually, the Exceria Pro 1 and Exceria 1 are the first in the Exceria lineup to incorporate a newly developed controller compliant with UHS-II, and achieve data transfer speeds considerably higher as compared to previous UHS-I compliant cards.
Definitely, the new Toshiba SD memory cards will be expected to roll out for a "significant" premium over the standard cards, probably from five to 10 times as much, with the professional market being the first to adopt the SSD cards.
