Barely a month after launch, there are now over 1,000 native apps for the Apple Vision Pro

There are more than 1,000 spatial apps designed specifically for the Apple Vision Pro alongside over 1.5 million compatible apps.

Less than a month into its retail launch, the Apple Vision Pro achieved a significant milestone in its app ecosystem.

Greg Joswiak, the senior vice president of marketing at Apple, shared on X that there are now over 1,000 spatial apps designed specifically for the Apple Vision Pro. This is quite a jump from the over 600 native apps at launch on 2 February.

Greg added that there are also over 1.5 million compatible apps for the Apple Vision Pro, and thanked the developers for their support and hard work. The staggering number of compatible apps is made possible due to visionOS leveraging the existing developer frameworks.

Despite the strong developer support for the Vision Pro, it is hard to ignore the fact that some of the most popular apps such as Instagram, TikTok, Netflix, Spotify and YouTube are not supported on the device yet.

Bloomberg believes most developers are adopting a wait-and-see approach for the Vision Pro as there is only a limited quantity of devices available at launch. It will take some time for developers to warm up to the device and for smaller, independent developers to get their hands on a developer kit.
