The Samsung Galaxy S23 series could be announced in early February 2023.

According to Korean publication Chosun, Samsung is believed to be holding a launch event in San Francisco for the Galaxy S23 in the first week of February 2023. If true, it is only a few days earlier than the Galaxy S22 series which was announced on 9 February.

The shrinking global smartphone demand apparently prompted the South Korean company to launch its next generation Galaxy S series earlier.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 series is likely to be powered by Qualcomm's mobile platform as both companies extended their strategic partnership through the end of 2030. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is expected to retain the same design as the Galaxy S22 Ultra, and have a 5,000mAh battery and a new third-gen 200MP camera with 1/1.3" sensor, f/1.7 aperture and 0.6µm pixels.

Leaked purported renders of the Samsung Galaxy S23+ suggest the Contour Cut Camera design could be ditched. Rumoured display, battery and camera specs of the other Galaxy S23 models have also been reported.
