Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection update adds online multiplayer and more
Konami has announced the first major update for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, bringing multiple improvements and bug fixes to 13 classic TMNT games.
The biggest change is the addition of online multiplayer capabilities for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time, and online play is expected to arrive for TMNT III: The Manhattan Project in a future update.
At the same time, new tips and tricks have been added to the strategy guides to help players get an edge over their opponent in both Tournament Fighter games.
There is also customisable button mapping, additional screen filters for all GameBoy games, and other quality-of-life changes.
Several of these changes go toward improving online modes, such as the ability to set the lobby size for the two arcade games. The host can now limit it to two, three, or four players. They can also set the frame delay to "Automatic," which adjusts input lag according to the number of players.
To celebrate the festive season, TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection will be going on sale during Christmas and Chinese New Year on various platforms, including Sony Interactive Entertainment, Steam, and the Microsoft Store.
