TCL Shows Off Extreme TVs at CES 2013

TCL, China's TV and mobile phone manufacturing powerhouse, was out to impress visitors at CES 2013 with extreme products.

Yesterday, we shared TCL manufactured Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra as the world’s slimmest smartphone to-date at a mere 6.45mm thin. Build quality and usability upon first impression seemed decent too.

Another extreme product is TCL's 110-inch 4K Ultra HD TV - the world's largest at this point of time and the company was proudly showing it off at their booth; more so because it’s featured in the upcoming Iron Man 3 movie.

We can't tell much for the quality of the screen with the show's lighting conditions, but it sure was large enough that we wanted to cart one back.

Then there's the ultra slim Blade TV that's only 11.5mm thin and uses a new panel architecture to incorporate the display and speakers within its thin frame. Build-wise, it uses an aluminium construct with a simple but suitably subtle flat stand. There's also another stand that has an embedded Wi-Fi speaker to enhance the TV's audio production capability. The only catch is that the TV is still a concept product (but a fully functioning one) at the moment.

The Blade TV looks like any other modern TV with a speaker bar below.

However once you start peeking around the sides... ... you'll be surprised just how slim it is.
