Has Take-Two confirmed a new BioShock game?

What do you think of when the term "job listings" comes up during a conversation? Perhaps mental images of classified ads or online portals might occur to you. But what if it was for a position at a "top-secret 2K studio"?

You might find that the topic would take a very different turn. So let's put it into perspective. It's been less than a week since video game publisher Take-Two Interactive published their latest fiscal report, with CEO Strauss Zelnick mentioning that the company was displaying its "strongest development pipeline in history".

That's all well and good, but the actual bombshell was one of Zelnick's subsequent comments. When quizzed on the company's future plans, he mentioned that they were looking to release "sequels from our biggest franchises as well as exciting new IP". Less than a week later, this job listing for an "End Game Design Lead" appeared on their website. Naturally, fans went nuts.

Now, the Internet was (and still is) rife with rumours that a new BioShock title has been in development since 2018, but to be frank, we've never really had anything concrete for it. As such, the job listing was to fans the closest thing they had to a confirmation. Then again, it could just be for one of those "new IP" Zelnick mentioned.

Speaking of BioShock, there's a trending discussion on the game's subreddit regarding possible members of the development team. Granted, the original creative director for BioShock and BioShock: Infinite Ken Levine isn't on board with this one considering he's gone off to start Ghost Story Games, but it's still interesting to note that five of the twelve potential members have worked on BioShock titles before.

All that said, our best bet is still to wait for Take-Two to come forward and tell us the good news. After all, who doesn't appreciate a nice surprise every once in a while?
