The SuperSolid XG340R is a 34-inch curved display that won't break the bank
The SuperSolid XG340R is a 34-inch curved display with a 100Hz refresh rate
SuperSolid, the monitor brand launched by local PC startup Dreamcore, has announced the XG340R monitor, a 34-inch ultrawide curved display. In addition, the XG340R offers a crisp 3,440 x 1,440-pixel VA panel and a 100Hz refresh rate.
It'll be going up against the likes of the PRISM+ X340 Pro, which also features a 1500R curvature for a more immersive wraparound experience.
The VA panel is rated for a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, and you should get better colour reproduction and viewing angles than cheaper TN panels. There's also support for AMD FreeSync, in case you have a Radeon RX GPU.
There's also a headphone holder at the back for you to stow your headset and minimise clutter. In terms of display inputs, you get one DisplayPort 1.2, two HDMI 1.4, and one HDMI 2.0 port.
Another key point to note is the monitor's use of Grade A+ panels from Samsung. There have been comparisons made in the past between the Grade A panels used by SuperSolid and the A+ panels touted by rival PRISM+, so it's nice to see that SuperSolid is stepping up its game in this respect.
The monitor is covered by a 3-year parts warranty, inclusive of a 14-day on-site warranty and coverage for three bright pixels, five dark pixels, or five total pixel defects.
You'll be able to pre-order the XG340R at SuperSolid's website or at Dreamcore's booth at COMEX at a special launch price of S$679 (U.P. S$1,299). As part of the COMEX launch, Dreamcore is offering a discount of S$50 if you buy one of their custom PCs together with the XG340R.
