The SuperSolid X270 is an affordable 4K monitor by local startup Dreamcore

SuperSolid is a homegrown monitor brand that wants to make affordable monitors with premium features that would usually cost you a lot more. Started by Dreamcore, another local startup, SuperSolid is debuting at COMEX 2018 with the X270, a 27-inch 4K monitor with slim bezels and a sleek design.

The SuperSolid X270 is targeted at content creators and movie buffs, featuring a 3,840 x 2,160-pixel AHVA panel that supports AMD’s FreeSync technology. It has a 75Hz refresh rate and the FreeSync support means that you should get a relatively fluid experience in game.

It’s also suited for multi-monitor setups with its slim bezels, but you’ll want to pair it with a powerful card – perhaps one of NVIDIA’s new GeForce RTX 20-series cards – if you’re hoping to game at a 4K resolution.

The monitor also comes with two HDMI 2.0 and two DisplayPort 1.2 inputs, so you can hook it up to both your PC and console if you wish.

There are some limitations however, and the tilt stand is not height-adjustable. That said, it is compatible with VESA mounts so you can mount it at your desired height on your wall.

The SuperSolid X270 will be available to buy at COMEX 2018 at a launch price of S$389 (U.P. S$479). Dreamcore will be offering S$140 off the S$479 retail price for customers who buy both a Dreamcore PC and a SuperSolid monitor. In addition, the company will allow customers to trade-in their working monitors (24-inches and above) for a S$50 discount. Customers will also be able to purchase the monitor online at SuperSolid's website.
