*Update: DDaily claims that Samsung will be holding a Mobile Unpacked event at IFA 2012 to debut the successor of the Galaxy Note. The date is said to be on the 30th August.

The highly successful Samsung Galaxy Note is rumored to have a successor in the works with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display and a narrow body. An insider source tipped off GSMArena that the upcoming device will sport a design inspired by the current flagship model, the Samsung Galaxy S III.

Contrary to earlier rumors of an October release, the source also claimed that the launch date has been pushed forward to September before the anticipated release of Apple's next iPhone. However, other specs such as an improved 8-megapixel camera sensor, 1.5GB RAM and a new Exynos 5250 dual-core processor remain unconfirmed at this point in time.
