StarHub SMB customers get free softphone subscriptions to enable remote working

StarHub SMB customers get free softphone subscriptions

In light of the escalation in the novel coronavirus situation in Singapore, SMB customers of StarHub will receive a free subscription to the softphone app of its cloud telephony solution, from now until 1 September 2020.

StarHub is doing this to support their customers’ initiatives to support a remote workforce in line with their Business Continuity Planning (BCP).

Charlie Chan, Chief of Enterprise Business Group, StarHub said:

For the continuation of business in times of emergency, companies may need to arrange for their employees to work remotely. Seamless communication is therefore essential to ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

With the app, “SmartUC Mobile”, customers and their employees will not need to be in the office to make or receive their landline calls. They can easily remain contactable through their respective landline numbers from remote locations, by using the softphone app installed in their mobile phones and/ or laptops. They can also conveniently retrieve voicemail messages that are sent directly to their email inboxes.

StarHub will progressively reach out to its customers to inform them about this initiative but those who are interested can immediately contact the StarHub Business Hotline at 1800 888-8888 or visit www.starhub.com/freesmartuc from tomorrow, 13 February 2020 to get started.

The novel coronavirus has made itself felt in Singapore’s MICE industry with the postponement of the IT Show 2020  meant to be held in March. The bi-annual Singapore Air Show has seen 70 exhibitors pull out and organisers are expecting fewer attendees for the general session this coming weekend.
