StarHub to cease further hybrid fiber coaxial rollout

StarHub has announced that it will stop further rollout of its hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) network to new residential and commercial buildings.

For customers moving into new buildings that obtain Temporary Occupation Permit status after 30 April 2018, StarHub says it’ll deliver its broadband, pay TV, and fixed voice services over the Nationwide Broadband Network (NBN) or via its own fiber infrastructure. This news should come as no surprise as the telco has been steadily moving its services to its fiber infrastructure in the past few years as well as expanding said fiber infrastructure to reach more commercial buildings.

StarHub will provide customers with details of its plans for the existing HFC infrastructure in due course.

StarHub customers can visit www.starhub.com/hfc for more information.
