Spotify could be coming to the Apple Watch in June at WWDC 2018.

According to an "unverified source" of MacRumors, Spotify is going to be the first third party service to offer music streaming on the Apple Watch. This is made possible via the Apple's StreamKit framework which could be launched as part of WatchOS 5.

StreamKit is said to allow cellular models of the Apple Watch to receive push notifications from third party apps such as Facebook and Twitter without being connected to a paired iPhone. This would make the Apple Watch less dependent on the iPhone and bring us closer to the dream of going truly phone-free.

Apple's WWDC 2018 will take place from 4th June to 8th June where it is expected to unveil a low-cost 13-inch Retina MacBook.
