Apple is said to be working on a "special version" of iPadOS 17 for bigger iPad models which are coming next year.
Tipster @analyst941 claims the "special version" of iPadOS 17 will enable the bigger iPad models to support for up to two 6K displays at 60Hz. This could be achieved through daisy-chaining displays through multiple Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Speculation on bigger iPad models in the pipeline started in 2021 when Bloomberg reported that Apple is exploring larger iPads. Display analyst Ross Young said in a June 2022 report that a 14.1-inch iPad Pro with mini-LED and ProMotion is in development.
iPadOS 17 is also rumoured to bring iPhone-style screen customisation options to the tablets. Apple's WWDC 2023 will be held from 5 June to 9 June where the "latest iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS advancements" are previewed.
